Fever 1793 Bonus Question

Historical-fiction novels are the best of both worlds. An author creates an imaginative story with original/made-up characters but also includes some interesting historical facts and events letting the reader learn about the world's history without much effort! The novel we just finished in class takes place in the late 18th Century in Philadelphia.

If you could go back in time and live during any era/time period/decade etc. besides present time, where and when would you want to live and why? Please give at least three reasons as to why you have chosen this time period as your favorite and explain your opinion in at least three complete sentences. If you accurately follow the directions, you will receive 5 bonus points that will be applied to your Fever 1793 novel test.

Please put your first name only at the end of your response so I can give you credit, but you can still maintain your privacy. You have until 3:30 PM on Thursday, November 17th to take advantage of this opportunity.

  1. Here is an example response to help you:
I would love to have lived during the 1950s. I have always enjoyed the Do-Wop music from that time period, the clothing style, car models, and diners (popular culture). There were also many inventions that occurred during this time that we take for granted today (for example: the television). It was a very creative time in history.

  2. I would love to go back to 1912. the reason is because I would have wanted to see the Titanic go off on its journey. But yet it would be sad to hear about the crash. It was very important to have that included in our history. That is why I chose 1912.

  3. I would like to live in the year 0, because that is when Jesus lived. I want to be able to hang out with Jesus in person. I think you become more like someone when you spend time with them. -Corbin S.

  4. I would like to go to the 1800's during the Industrial Revolution. The reason I would want to go back then is because they had technology and old stuff as well. It would be cool because the nation would be changing and it would be nice to see how the nation changed.

  5. If I had to choose one time period to go back and live in I would choose the 1980's. I chose this time period because it’s the time the game Pac Man came out! And also the movie " Foot Loose " came out too. And my personal favorite is the Huskers back to back win!!

  6. If I was given the opportunity to go back in time I would go to the 1970's. I choose the 70's because I would like to enjoy the type of fashion they had such as bellbottoms, lots of tie dye and peace sign clothing. I also would have liked to experience the time when disco was majorly popular, that would have been really fun. The last think I'd enjoy about that time period is watching the legendary horse Secretariat race the triple crown.

  7. If I would go back in time I would go back to the beginning of the school year. I would go there because I would like to have done better in school in the beginning. I also would have gone back so I wouldn't have gone to guidance so much.

  8. If I could go back in time I'd go to Ancient Egypt. I would like to see all the huge pyramids. I would like to see how they built them without modern-day technology.

  9. I would want to go back in time to the 1970's. This is when there was funky music. I would like to go to that time period, because I like the music, hair, and clothing styles.
