What book have you read this year that you think every 7th grader should read?

What book have you read this year that you think every 7th grader should read?

I'm currently reading Pendragon by D.J. MacHale (the first book in the Pendragon series --there's ten books total), because one of my students suggested it to me. She's even letting me read her own personal copy! Even though the fantasy genre has never been my favorite, this book is great! The narrator (teen boy perspective) speaks and thinks in a very blunt/matter-of-fact manner that is extremely down-to-earth, refreshing, and hilarious to read. What should I read next?

  1. I am currently reading The Lost Boy and it is an amazing book. I think everybody should read it because it really opens peoples eyes to all the sick and mean people in this world. It is by Dave Pelzer. I recommend everyone to read it.

  2. There are many books to choose from but I would probably say to read the Vampire Kisses series. It's rather different from the Twilight series, but when I began reading the first one out of the six, I couldn't put it down. Every time that I buy a new one, I'll spend about an hour or two laying on my bed reading. It's a really good book that can grab you and I think that you'd enjoy reading it. :D

  6. My favorite book this year is The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer. I thought it was really cool how the boy went throught everything that he did and is now leading a somewhat normal life. But it is sad because some of the people in the book don't like him because he is in foster care. But it is a really good book!

  9. I think the book I would recommend for kids to read is A Walk To Remember. When I first began reading it. I was kinda lost because it's different from the movie I saw. As I began reading it, it taught everyone a valuable lesson. What I thought the lesson was, was to always go with what your heart says and never let go of the person you love. I enjoyed that book so much that I went out and I bought it and read it 2 more times. That is my favorite book.

  13. The bestest book I've read all year has got to be the Host!!! I love this book and have read it 4 different times! It's a funny thrill ride full of wacky sayings and upbeat style. (Even though it describes life after alien takeover) You would fall head over heels in love with this book if you just read it once. :D
